Eagles Fall to Holy Cross, 2-0

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer dropped its first game of the Embassy Suites Classic by losing to Holy Cross 2-0 on Friday night.

The first period ended with Holy Cross (4-1-1) taking a 2-0 lead into the intermission. FGCU (1-4-1) was outshot 6-3 in the first half.

In the second half, the young Eagles fought hard and had opportunities to score but came up short as the Crusaders took the victory.

Holy Cross goalkeeper Thomas Booth picked up the shutout while Adam Glick (Leola, Pa.) notched four stops in the loss.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday, September 21 when they host Fairfield in the final game of the Embassy Suites Classic. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
