Men's Soccer Announces Class of 2014

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s soccer team and head coach Bob Butehorn have announced the signing of three NLI’s for the 2010 season. Representing the class of 2014, the newest additions to the Eagle soccer team include Billy Fanning, Christopher Moffett, and Ryan Price.

“Our coaching staff did an outstanding job of identifying these three individuals,” said head coach Bob Butehorn. “Each player has the character and ambition to be successful in our program and we really look forward to assisting them in reaching their potential as a player and a person.”

Meet the Newcomers

Billy Fanning, 6’3”, 175 lbs.
Valrico, FL (Florida SC/Durant Senior HS)

- Three year letterman and senior captain.
- Scored 26 goals as a junior, second most in a single season in Durant Senior HS history
- Led team to a school record 25 wins as a junior and led team to District Championship the same year.
- Scored 22 goals as a senior, finished with 52 career goals, second most in Durant history.
- 2008-10 first team All-Western Conference honors
- 2008-09 first team All-Hillsborough County honors.
- Named to the ESPN RISE All-Central Florida team.
- Invited to participate in the Hillsborough County vs. Pinellas County Senior All Star game.

Christopher Moffett, 6’0”, 160 lbs.
Homestead, FL (Miami FC Kendall/Westminster Christian HS)

- Four year letterman and senior captain.
- Finished career with 60 goals and 45 assists, including 24 goals and 18 assists in senior season.
- Miami Herald, Dade County “Top Scorer”.
- 2008-10 All-Dade County first team.
- 2006-07 All-Dade County third Team.
- 2009-10 Dade County, Class 2A-4A All-Star Game MVP.
- Named to the ESPN RISE All-South Florida team.
- 2009-10, 2007-08 District 20, Class 2A Champions
- 2008-09 Florida Athletic Coaches Association Athlete of the Year.
- Scored in Top 10% of all US Soccer Federation, Development Academy, Nike SPARQ participants in 2009.

Ryan Price, 6’0”, 175 lbs.
Melbourne, FL (Brevard FC/Melbourne HS)

- Member of US Youth Soccer Region III ODP Team from 2005-2010.
- Named to 2009 ODP Winter Interregional All-Star Team.
- Four year letterman and senior captain for Melbourne HS.
- Led Melbourne HS to consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association, State Championships (6A in 2009, 5A in 2010).
- Finished high school career with 85 goals and 41 assists, including 33 goals and 17 assists during senior season.
- 2010 All Space Coast Player of the Year
- 2009 Dairy Farmers Boys Player of the Year
- 2009 FHSAA Class 6A MVP
- 2009 All Space Coast Conference first team.
- Team ranked seventh in ESPN Rise’s Fab 50
