Slusher to Instruct at National Player Development Camp
FORT MYERS, Fla. - FGCU assistant men’s soccer coach Aaron Slusher will be instructing high school players at the EXACT Soccer National Player Development Camp this weekend. The camp allows players to showcase both mental readiness and on-field skill.
Coach Slusher, along with instructors from other top NCAA programs, will conduct small group clinic activity, observe players showcasing their development potential and lead one-on-one review sessions with each player.
Slusher enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Florida Gulf Coast University men’s soccer team with primary emphasis on goalkeeping. In just two seasons with the staff, he has helped the Eagles to a 21-10-3 overall mark, highlighted by a 13-3-2 record in 2010 and spending several weeks in the national rankings by multiple media outlets (as high as No. 19).
In arguably the program’s most impressive season to date, the 2010 squad finished with a perfect 9-0 conference mark and brought the first ever A-Sun regular season conference championship to the FGCU campus, outscoring their league opposition 26-2. As one of just five schools in the nation to finish with an unblemished conference mark, the Blue and Green landed a program best seven student-athletes on the A-Sun All-Conference teams and the Defensive Player of the Year in goalkeeper Adam Glick.
