FORT MYERS, Fla. – After helping the FGCU men’s soccer team repeat its Atlantic Sun regular season title while also clinching the A-Sun Tournament Championship in its first year of postseason eligibility this season, freshman goalkeeper Nathan Ingham (Ontario, Canada/Keswick HS) received an invitation to the Canadian U-20 camp which will take place in Sunrise, Fla.

Recently named head coach Nick Dasovic will direct the 10-day Canada U-20 camp which features 19 players, 16 of whom have previous experience in a national youth camp, born after 1993. The players come from clubs in Canada, USA, France, Germany and Spain.

Dasovic is well versed in Canada’s national program, having made 63 appearances himself at the international “A” level from 1992 to 2004. He represented Canada in three cycles of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and also represented Canada at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2001. He then represented Canada in a fourth cycle of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers as an assistant coach to the national team. He also served as an assistant coach with Canada’s U-20 team.

Starting eight contests this season for the Green and Blue, Ingham accumulated a 6-2 record including one shutout in net. The Ontario, Canada native recorded back-to-back six-save outings in victories over Belmont (Oct. 23) and Jacksonville (Oct. 27). Earning A-Sun All-Tournament MVP honors with consecutive five-save efforts against fourth-seeded Mercer (Nov. 11) and sixth-seeded ETSU (Nov. 13), the netminder helped the Eagles secure their first-ever A-Sun Tournament Championship and earn the league’s automatic berth into the NCAA Championship in the program’s first year of postseason eligibility. Ingham finished the year with a 1.10 goals against average, totaling 30 saves with a .769 save percentage while allowing nine goals.

Under the direction of A-Sun Coach of the Year Bob Butehorn, the 2011 campaign came to a close with FGCU holding a 12-6-2 overall record, while finishing the league slate with a 7-1 mark.
