Three-Time Defending A-Sun Champion Men’s Soccer Announces Camp Dates

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Coming off back-to-back regular season and tournament A-Sun titles, head coach Bob Butehorn, the 2012 NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year, and the FGCU men’s soccer staff announced the dates for their annual Late Spring ID Clinic and Summer ID Camp on Thursday.

The FGCU High School ID Clinic will take place on May 11th and allows players the opportunity to compete against players in the same graduation class in a convenient one-day format. The ID clinic is open to all high school age players, but the enrollment will be limited to the first 36 field players and six goalkeepers in each upcoming graduation year.

For those players looking for a full campus experience, the FGCU Identification (ID) Camp will run from Aug. 2-4. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend a few days in a college environment. This is a three-day program is for residential or commuter and it is open to all high school age players. The FGCU ID camp offers players an opportunity to experience life on campus while maintaining the focus and intensity of our ID Clinic. This three-day format allows players full exposure to both the FGCU coaching staff & guest collegiate coaches. It also creates concentrated focus, sharper games and a more intense realistic environment.

FGCU is the three-time defending A-Sun regular season champions and has won back-to-back A-Sun Tournament titles resulting in NCAA Tournament appearances in its first two years of eligibility. Over its current three-year run as A-Sun regular season champs, FGCU has posted an impressive 22-2-1 record in league play. In addition, the program has produced both national team players and professionals both in the U.S. and abroad.
