The FGCU men's soccer team, who finished 8-10-1 (3-5-1 A-Sun) and are heading into their second year in the Atlantic Sun Conference, was picked to finish fifth in the preseason men's soccer poll, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

The FGCU men's soccer program held two summer camps in June, and both were a huge success. Campers, ranging in age from 6-18, worked directly with the FGCU staff both on and off campus.

FGCU sophomore goalkeeper Derek Miller will travel to Brazil for one month this summer to study in the world's largest wetland. Miller, an honors student with a 4.0 GPA, will travel with two other FGCU students to study the history and culture of the Pantanal region of Brazil.

Bob Butehorn, head men's soccer coach at Florida Gulf Coast University, has announced the dates and opened registration for his 2008 Summer Camps. Butehorn and the FGCU staff will hold a Day Camp at North Collier Regional Park in Naples (June 16-20), as well as an Overnight Camp on the FGCU campus (June 25-28).
