FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU men's soccer team looks to knock off the Atlantic Sun's top two teams this weekend when it heads to Jacksonville to take the field against two A-Sun Conference foes. FGCU (5-5-1, 1-1-1 A-Sun) will meet Jacksonville (5-4-1, 3-1 A-Sun) on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. and squares off against North Florida (4-5, 3-1 A-Sun) on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m.

Scouting Jacksonville: The Dolphins enter the week with a 5-4-1 overall record and a 3-1 A-Sun mark. Jacksonville Head Coach Mike Johnson is in his fifth season with the Dolphins, and currently has a 32-39-11 record. Jacksonville enters the week ranked T-2nd in the conference in goals per game (1.40) and in assists (13).

Scouting North Florida: North Florida comes into the week 4-5 overall and 3-1 in A-Sun competition. The Ospreys are coached by Ray Bunch, who is 136-124-21 in his 18 years with North Florida. The Ospreys have won three of their last five games entering the week and are tied for the conference lead in shutouts (3). Junior Akil Defreitas leads the Osprey attack, with 10 points on four goals and two assists.

A-Sun Standings: FGCU is currently tied with Lipscomb for sixth place in the A-Sun with a conference record of 1-1-1. Jacksonville and UNF are ties for first place 3-1 records in the conference. Campbell, Stetson, and USC-Upstate are not far behind with conference records of 2-1-1, 2-1-0 and 2-2-0, respectively.
