Men's Soccer Set to Host a Pair of A-Sun Games This Weekend

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU men's soccer team looks to continue its winning ways as they host two A-Sun Conference foes this weekend. Friday's game will be played at FGCU, while Sunday's Game will be played in Naples, Fla. at North Collier Regional Park. FGCU (6-6-1, 2-2-1 A-Sun) will host Lipscomb (4-6-2, 3-1-1 A-Sun) on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. and squares off against Belmont (4-6-2, 1-3-1 A-Sun) on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. in Naples, Fla.

This Week in FGCU Men’s Soccer

Scouting Lipscomb: The Bisons had a history-making day Sunday with a 3-2 win over Campbell. The Bisons won a third Atlantic Sun game in a season for the first time. They also won three straight Atlantic Sun games for the first time in the history of the program. They are in second place in the conference, the highest they have ever been. Senior forward Ben Page scored the first goal last week in both the 2-1 win over Mercer and the 3-2 win over Campbell. Page is tied for the team lead in shots with 45 and second in shots per game with 3.75. He is also second in assists with four.

Scouting Belmont: The Bruins won their first A-Sun game of 2007, shutting out Mercer 2-0. Ron Gravely recorded his fourth shutout of the season, tops in the conference. The win follows a 2-1 defeat to Campbell.
