FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer fell to the Golden Panthers of FIU by the score of 1-0 on Sunday night.
With the loss the Eagles drop to 2-5-1, while FIU improves to 1-5-2.
The first period ended the teams taking a 0-0 tie into the locker room at intermission.
In the second half FIU got on the board and scored the game's only goal in the 65th minute when Cory Kendall knocked in a goal off a give-and-go with Jahbari Willis. The young Eagles clawed and had their fair share of opportunities to score but came up short as the Golden Panthers took the victory.
FIU goalkeeper Jesse Fullerton picked up the shutout while Adam Glick (Leola, Pa.) notched two stops in the loss.
The Eagles will be back in action next weekend when they hit the road open up the A-Sun regular season. The Eagles will face Mercer on October 2 and take on Campbell on October 4.
