No. 19 Men's Tennis Edges Presbyterian College

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The #19 Florida Gulf Coast University men’s tennis team pulled off a tight victory over #26 Presbyterian College at the FGCU Tennis Complex Sunday afternoon to improve to 9-1 on the season. Senior Juan Carlos Osorio, a native of Quito, Ecuador continued to look strong in #1 seed singles as he defeated Kshitij Dwivedi of Presbyterian College in two sets. Still ranked #3 in the nation, Osorio extends his unbeaten streak to eight wins. Senior Tim Offerman of Hamburg, Germany joined Osorio in the #1 seed doubles match and the two were able to pull off another victory as they defeated Hector Rincon and Aaron Chapman 8-5. The two have compiled 8 wins with only 1 loss on the season as the #1 seed. Freshmen Danny Lee (Naples, Fla.) and Edson Lima (Brasilia, Brazil) were once again victorious in their singles matches as the fifth and sixth seed consecutively. The pair also defeated Brad Luciuk and Patrick Fediuk in the third seed doubles match. The Eagles men’s tennis team is in action again Wednesday, March 15 against the University of Indianapolis starting at 1:00 pm.
