Men's Tennis Falls to Boston College

FORT MYERS, Fla., - The FGCU men’s tennis team dropped a match 6-1 to Boston College on Wednesday afternoon. FGCU falls to 3-5 while Boston College improves to 3-6 with the win.

Boston College took the doubles point. Andrew Kam and Brenton Bacon won at the #1 singles position with an 8-7 win. Boston College rallied to win the other two matches 8-6 at the #2 spot and 8-1 at #3 doubles.

Kam won at the #1 singles spot in relatively easy fashion with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Alex Rastorgouev. Boston College picked up similar wins at the #5 and #6 spots. The other three matches were all decided in the third set. BC’s Thomas Nolan earned a come from behind win at #2 over Ervin Garibovic 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Erik Kreutzer knocked off FGCU’s Danny Lee 3-6, 6-0, 7-6 for a win at #4. BC also won at #4 as Edson Lima fell to Jason Sechrist 6-7, 6-1, 6-4.

FGCU will be in action again on Saturday when they host #75 UNF at 11:00 at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
