Men's Tennis No Match for No. 63 Hatters
DELAND, Fla. – The FGCU men’s tennis team dropped to 0-4 on the season with a 7-0 loss at Stetson on Saturday morning. This was the first conference match of the season for both schools.
Stetson took the doubles point winning all three doubles matches, 8-5, 8-4, and 8-3. The Hatters then went on to sweep all six singles matches as well. Brenton Bacon played a strong singles match at the #1 position, losing to Filip Kricka, 7-6, 7-5. Ervin Garibovic also played well for the Eagles at the #3 position, falling to Njal Stene, 7-5, 6-3. Danny Lee nearly pulled out a win in the first set of his match as well, but he was eventually defeated by Maksim Levanovich, 7-5, 6-1.
The Eagles return home for their next match, scheduled for Friday, February 20th at 2:00 PM against in-state rival Florida Atlantic.
