Men's Tennis Finishes Fall Season at UCF Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. –The FGCU men’s tennis team finished its fall season at the UCF Invitational on Sunday night in Orlando, Fla. at the UCF Tennis Complex. Some of the matches were canceled due to rain in the afternoon.

In doubles action, junior Collin Brown (Victoria, Texas/Memorial HS) and sophomore Lance Lvovsky (Dania, Fla./Broward Virtual School/Jacksonville) lost 8-5 against Arkansas’s Rafael Rondino and Michael Wardell.

In singles play, sophomore Dean Tsamas (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay HS) lost in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4 against Mitch Thams from UCF.

Senior Steve Binninger (St. Augustine, Fla./Saint Joseph Academy) fell in straight sets against UCF’s Eugene Dolgovykh, 6-2, 6-1.

The Green and Blue completed the 2011 fall campaign and will begin preparations for the 2012 spring dual match season.

Mike Nott/Manfred Jeske (ARK) def. Lvovsky/Brown (FGCU), 8-5

Singles:

Mitch Thams (UCF) def. Dean Tsamas (FGCU) 6-1, 6-4

Eugene Dolgovykh (UCF) def. Steve Binninger (FGCU) 6-2, 6-1
