FORT MYERS, Fla. – With just two weekends of regular season action remaining, the FGCU men’s tennis team will begin its three-match road swing to end the season this weekend at Bethune-Cookman on Saturday and Atlantic Sun unbeaten No. 66 North Florida on Sunday.

Seeking to get to double figure dual match wins for the first time since the inaugural Division I season (2007-08), the Eagles sport a 9-8 overall mark and a 4-2 record in A-Sun action. One more conference victory would also set a program record.

Winners of four its last six, FGCU has gone 24-12 in singles play and 12-6 in double action over its six A-Sun matches. The Eagles have been particularly dominate in the top three spots in the lineup, as sophomore Jordi Vives (Barcelona, Spain/IES Ferran Tallada/USC), sophomore Tianyu Bao (Tianjin, China/Bayshore HS-FL) and juniors Dean Tsamas (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay HS) have gone a combined 14-4.

Each member of the previously mentioned trio has been named A-Sun Player of the Week this spring. Tsamas leads the way with a 13-4 record, winning 9 of his last 11. Of Tsamas’ 13 wins, 10 have come in straight sets. Prior to his last outing against ETSU, Bao had won five in a row and sits at 10-7, seeing time in the top three spots. Vives has played all 14 of his matches at the No. 1 spot, going 9-5.

Junior Lance Lvovsky (Dania, Fla./ Broward Virtual School/Jacksonville) is fourth on the squad with eight singles wins and has won five of his last six doubles appearances. Lvovsky has teamed with Bao the last two matches for consecutive victories, but also went 3-1 in A-Sun play with senior Jackson Moore (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch HS/Georgia State).

Winners of eight straight, No. 66 UNF takes on No. 26 Florida State on Friday afternoon and hosts A-Sun foe Stetson on Saturday before facing the Eagles on Sunday. Sitting atop the league standings, the Ospreys hold a 4-0 A-Sun record. UNF has earned 7-0 home wins over Kennesaw State and Mercer, before playing to back-to-back road victories over then-No. 68 ETSU (4-3) and USC Upstate (6-1). Other marquee wins this season for UNF include home triumphs over then-No. 75 Louisiana (4-3), UCF (6-1) and then-No. 74 South Alabama, as well as a 5-2 road win at then-No. 54 Miami to kick-start the current win streak.

The Ospreys have won the previous four meetings with FGCU and lead the all-time series 5-1.

Bethune-Cookman, who sits at 12-10 overall, will play host to the Green and Blue at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Holding a 7-3 record over their last 10 matches, the Wildcats most recently dropped a contest against UMKC, 5-2, in Daytona Beach, Fla. It will mark just the third meeting all-time between the two schools, with the Eagles earning victories in the first two dual matchups.
