FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Coming off another extremely successful season which brought FGCU five Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season championships and several individual records, athletic department officials have named Mike Murray and Jordi Vives as co-winners of the 2013-14 Most Outstanding Male Student-Athlete Award and Kira Toussaint and Kelly Perzanowski as the co-winners of the Most Outstanding Female Student-Athlete Award.

FGCU Athletics has named softball player Kelsey Carpenter (Oviedo, Fla./Hagerty HS) and men’s tennis player Lance Lvovsky (Dania, Fla./Broward Virtual School/Jacksonville) as recipients of the Northwestern Mutual Academic Student-Athletes of the Month Award for the month of May.

Bringing a close to an incredible season that saw 35 wins and five awards, FGCU men’s tennis junior No. 45 Jordi Vives fell in a tough three-set match to Vanderbilt’s No. 59 Ryan Lipman in Thursday’s NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship round of 32 at the University of Georgia.

Continuing to achieve history and bring notoriety to FGCU men’s tennis in a national spotlight, ITA No. 45 Jordi Vives soared past No. 114 Philippe Tsangaridis of Coastal Carolina on Wednesday to give the Green and Blue their first ever NCAA postseason victory with 6-4, 6-3, win in the round of 64 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia.
