FGCU Men's Tennis Moves into National Top-10

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s tennis team is ranked No. 8 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II Team Rankings released today. The Eagles, who were listed at No. 12 in the March 23 rankings, have posted a 17-3 record thus far to tie the school record for victories in a single season, set in 2004. This is the highest ranking in the five-year history of tennis on the FGCU campus. Competing in the strongest region in Division II tennis, FGCU remains fourth among southeast region teams. The top eight teams will advance to the NCAA Division II Tennis Championships with the top two seeds in the southeast hosting a four-team sub-regional. FGCU concludes its home schedule with a match against No. 3 Barry, ranked first in the southeast, at the FGCU Tennis Complex on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Eagles close out the regular season at No. 4 Lynn, also ranked second in the southeast, on Monday, April 11.
