Men's Tennis Blanks UPR-Mayaguez

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The No. 17 Florida Gulf Coast University men’s tennis team blanked the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in Division II Southeast Region play at the FGCU Tennis Complex. The top six players for the Eagles garnered two wins apiece. Picking up double victories for FGCU were seniors Juan Carlos Osorio (Quito, Ecuador) and Tim Offerman (Hamburg, Germany) at No. 1, junior Alberto Gutierrez (Bogota, Columbia) and sophomore Gavin Manders (Warwick, Bermuda) at No. 2, and freshmen Edson Lima (Brasilia, Brazil) and Danny Lee (Naples, Fla.) at No. 3. All six players picked up a second win in singles play. FGCU (3-1) will host matches against both Southern Indiana and Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne on Monday, March 6.
