Men's Tennis Upsets Armstrong 5-4

By Chris Perry SAVANNAH, GA.– No.19 Florida Gulf Coast University defeated No. 6 Armstrong Atlantic University 5-4 in men’s tennis action in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday. FGCU captured one of the three doubles matches, while taking four out of six singles matches for its 13th victory of the season. Senior Juan Carlos Osorio (Quito, Ecuador) and freshmen Edson Lima (Brasilia, Brazil) both improved their record in singles play with wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles respectively. Senior Tim Offerman (Hamburg, Germany) picked up a straight sets win at No. 2 singles as did sophomore Gavin Manders at No. 4 singles. Osorio and Offerman teamed up to improve to 13-2 at No. 1 doubles while Lima and Lee improved to 14-2 with a win at No. 3 doubles.
