Men's Tennis Picks Up Second Straight Win

FORT MYERS, Fla., - The FGCU men’s tennis team won its second straight match with a 6-1 win over Fairfield. The Eagles move to 3-4 while Fairfield falls to 2-2.

FGCU won the doubles point by sweeping the three matches. The Eagles received convincing wins at the #1 and #2 positions as Brenton Bacon and Andrew Kam won 8-1 as did Edson Lima and Danny Lee.

Kam won at the #1 singles position for the second straight day with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Ryan Berthod. Danny Lee and Gonzalo Dovilla cruised to easy wins. Lee at the #3 position and Dovilla at #6 singles. Ervin Garibovic won 7-6, 6-2 at the #2 position while Lima went three sets in the Eagles win at the #4 position.

FGCU will be back in action tomorrow when they host Boston College at 2:00 pm at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
