A point of emphasis for the FGCU men's tennis team this season was winning the doubles point. Thibaud Aime and Matthew Rock did their part in trying to help the Eagles do that every match, winning 12 of 17 doubles matches this season. For their efforts, the Aime and Rock were named Second Team All-Atlantic Sun as a doubles team.

The FGCU men's tennis team wrapped up the 2010 season with a 7-0 loss at No. 52 USC Upstate on Saturday morning in Spartanburg, S.C. The Eagles finish the season with a 4-14 overall record, 3-7 in Atlantic Sun matches. The Spartans remain atop the A-Sun standings, holding a 17-5 overall record, 9-0 in conference.

The FGCU men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Campbell Camels on Thursday afternoon. Sergio Rebolledo picked up the lone point for the Eagles, winning a three-set marathon at number five singles. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 4-13 overall, 3-6 in conference play, while Campbell improves to 14-5, 6-2 in the A-Sun.

The Eagles came up on the losing end at Lipscomb on Friday afternoon before beating Belmont on Saturday morning. The Blue and Green now stand at 4-11 on the season with a 3-4 record in A-Sun play.

Thibaud Aime and Matthew Rock each dropped tough matches in the first round of the 2009 Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championship, so both will head to the consolation bracket on Saturday morning. In doubles play, Aime/Rock ousted a duo from Georgia before losing to a team from Florida State in the Round of 16.

The 2009 ITA Southeast Regional Tournaments get underway today, and four FGCU athletes will be participating. Thibaud Aime and Matthew Rock will be in Athens, Georgia, for the men's tournament, and Priscillia Villemond and Farah Leclercq will be in Atlanta, Georgia for the women's tournament.

The Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis team had a strong showing in the UNF Hampton Inn 9A & Baymeadows Fall Tennis Invitational tournament this past weekend. A pair of doubles teams reached the semifinals of their respective draws, and Thibaud Aime reached the semifinals of the main back draw.

The Florida Gulf Coast University men's and women's tennis teams will be traveling to Jacksonville this weekend to participate in the UNF Hampton Inn 9A & Baymeadows Fall Tennis Invitational tournament. The tournament will feature approximately 30 teams from around the nation and will be held from Friday, Oct. 9-Sunday, Oct. 11.

The Eagles will be playing in three fall tournaments, beginning with the FGCU Fall Classic September 18-20. FGCU will kick off the spring season on January 16th with a home match against Florida A&M.
