Completing the Atlantic Sun Conference weekend sweep of in-state rival Stetson, the FGCU baseball wrapped up the 2013 regular season with a convincing 15-2 victory on Senior Day at Swanson Stadium on Saturday afternoon and, in doing so, secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming A-Sun Championship.

Entering the third and final round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional trailing by five strokes for the individual spot, FGCU freshman Edward Figueroa knew he needed a special round. With five birdies in his first eight holes of the day, Figueroa nearly pulled off the comeback, but fell just short of advancing to the NCAA Championships after a final round four-under 68 at Golden Eagle Golf & Country Club.
