FORT MYERS, Fla. – Incoming freshman Sean Dwyer (Taveres HS) was selected by the San Diego Padres with the 454th pick in the 15th round on the second day of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, held on Tuesday. He becomes the second Eagle selected in the 2010 draft.

Dwyer, a six-foot, 190-pound first baseman, finished last season with a .444 batting average with five home runs and 18 RBI. He also recorded a .663 on-base percentage and a .926 slugging percentage, which earned him Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star honors.

Dwyer will decide over the next month whether he will enter the pro level or suit up for the Eagles for his freshman season.

The 2010 MLB Draft concludes on Thursday, with the first selection of the day scheduled at 12 p.m.
