FGCU Baseball Announces Winter Camp Dates
Tuesday, October 19, 2010
FORT MYERS, Fla. – The three-time defending Atlantic Sun champion FGCU baseball team and head coach Dave Tollett announced the dates for its three different camps on Tuesday afternoon, all of which will be held in December.

The Eagle Baseball High School Showcase Camp will be held on Dec. 4-5 in downtown Fort Myers at the Boston Red Sox Minor League 5-Plex for campers in grades 9-12. The final two camps will be held simultaneously on Dec. 27-28 at Swanson Stadium on FGCU’s campus for kids in grades 7-12. The Eagle Baseball Advanced Defensive ID Skills Camp and the Eagle Baseball Advanced Offensive ID Skills Camp will each be $100 per camper or $180 for both camps.

The High School Showcase Camp has been developed as a highly instructional baseball experience. The camp features a staff of college coaches dedicated to teaching the skills necessary to reach the collegiate playing level. The camp provides an environment that promotes discipline and hard work. Each player will have a better understanding of every college that is represented at the High School Showcase Camp.

With a focus on athletes who want to improve their pitching, catching, infield and outfield abilities, the FGCU Advanced Defensive ID Skills Camp is designed for serious infielders and outfielders who want to take their game to the next level.

Players can learn the latest in hitting techniques during the two-day Eagle Baseball Advanced Offensive ID Skills Camp. Instructors leading this camp will focus on preparing hitters to compete at a high level. Campers will learn the basics of being a successful hitter with lessons on mechanics of the swing, hitting and bunting drills, base-running lessons, developing a plan, and mental skills to take to each at bat.
