FGCU Baseball Unveils Summer Camp Dates
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Three-time Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year Dave Tollett and the three-time conference champion FGCU baseball program announced dates for two summer baseball camps on Wednesday. The Eagle Baseball Summer Prospect Camp at FGCU will be held from June 19-22, and the Eagle Baseball Youth Summer Day Camp at FGCU is set for July 11-14. Both camps will be held at Swanson Stadium.
The Eagle Baseball Summer Prospect Camp at FGCU will be the first of two summer camps. The dates are June 19-22 and the cost is $395 for commuters and $495 for overnight campers. The Eagle Baseball Summer Prospect Camp at FGCU will begin at 12 p.m. on the 19th and conclude at 12pm on the 22nd.
The Eagle Baseball Summer Prospect Camp at FGCU has been developed as a highly instructional baseball experience. The FGCU baseball staff will assemble a team of college coaches dedicated to teaching the skills necessary to reach the collegiate playing level. The camp provides an environment that promotes discipline and hard work.
Players will be divided by age and ability during the week. The typical grouping of campers is (7th & 8th grade), (9th & 10th grade), (11th & 12th grade). Players have the opportunity of being elevated to a higher grouping if they display the ability and desire to compete at that level.
The second summer camp will be the Eagle Baseball Youth Summer Day Camp at FGCU. The dates for the camp are July 11-14 and the cost is $250. The times are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, with lunch provided for each camper.
The Eagle Baseball Youth Summer Day Camp at FGCU offers youth baseball players the opportunity to compete and improve their game during the summer. The goal of the camp is to make each player’s experience at camp as simple and enjoyable as possible. The staff will achieve this by improving baseball skills and developing proper playing habits in each camper. Program emphasis will be on individual skills and fundamentals of the game and include drills to help correct the faults of a young player and instruct them on the proper techniques to develop their skills.
The focus of the each camp is to allow the FGCU baseball coaching staff to provide instruction that will improve the players' overall ability. In addition, campers will receive insight on the college recruiting process, college admission requirements and lectures on what it takes to play at the next level. The two camps have provided numerous players the experience and information necessary to continue their baseball careers beyond their current level.
