FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University and Streamline Technologies have announced the launch of the newly redesigned home for FGCU Athletics, www.fgcuathletics.com. The revised and updated site continues the partnership between FGCU and Streamline Technologies and will bring fans closer than ever to their favorite FGCU teams and student-athletes. The site construction was a four-month collaborative process and was headed by Sports information Director Patrick Pierson, Assistant Sports Information Director Michael Hill and Streamline Technologies.

"We just wanted to give our website a fresh look, give our fans something to look at to coincide with us being postseason eligible in Division I," said Pierson. "There's a lot of excitement built into the year, so we thought why not recognize that with our new website? It not only gets our fans excited, but it also gets our student-athletes excited.”

“With our website, especially our bio pages, we wanted to accomplish things that no other Division I school has,” Hill said. “We’re anxious to see the reaction and comments our coaches, staff, student-athletes and fans have on the new website. We encourage everyone to Tweet us (@mike_hill84, @pierson_sid) with their opinions.”

FGCU’s website provider, Streamline Technologies, which is based in Franklin, Tenn., is a website design and hosting company that specializes in solutions for collegiate sports and minor league venues. The company, established in January 2000, has developed applications that help teams manage their entire online presence and currently provides internet services for several NCAA schools including Jacksonville University, Lipscomb University, East Tennessee State University and Valparaiso University.

“We are very excited to continue our relationship with FGCU in the development of their athletic website,” said Alex Short, President of Streamline Technologies. “The new site features several original design elements, such as the full-width headline photos, roster bio pages and a fixed header. I applaud the FGCU Sports Information staff for their hard work and excellent ideas during this process. We hope FGCU fans enjoy the site and all the exciting information coming from FGCU athletics.”

New and enhanced features of FGCUAthletics.com include:

Enhanced Navigation, Graphics and Design - It will be easier than ever for fans to follow their favorite teams with a site that is easier to navigate and find the most up to date information.

First Impression - The new site definitely “pops”. The full-width pictures for the headline stories will hopefully draw people into those stories.

Staff/Student-Athlete Bio Pages – Bio pages resemble those that are found in media guides and on profession sports websites. With the decline of media guides, it's more important than ever that FGCU’s coaches have something they can show recruits and their parents.
