FORT MYERS, Fla. – Coming off a 2-0 week in which they beat Tulsa and St. Louis, the FGCU women’s soccer team will continue their six-game road swing when they travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. this Friday to play in the Northern Arizona University Tournament.

The Eagles will face off with the host Northern Arizona Friday night at 10 p.m. and then finish up on Sunday when they take on UNLV at 1 p.m.

The Green and Blue are 5-1-1 on the year, including a 4-0-1 mark in their last five games, and came in at No. 49 in the most recent TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 64 projections.

Freshman Shea Rhoney (Lithia, Fla./Newsome HS) leads the Eagles with a team-high eight points and is tied for the team lead in goals (3). Rhoney was recently named College Sports Madness Player of the Week for her play against Tulsa and St. Louis last weekend. Sophomore Shannen Wacker (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa HS) has three goals and an assist on the year and is tied for the team lead in goals (3) with Rhoney. Freshmen Ally Kasun (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS) and Kaitlin Parker (Palm Harbor, Fla./Clearwater Central Catholic HS) have been contributing on the offensive end with seven and six points, respectively. Senior defender Ashley Ciesielczyk (Oregon, Ohio/Clay HS) has tallied a team-high five assists in seven games and recently became the all-time career assist leader at FGCU for with 23 after picking up the helper on the game-winning goal by Parker against Tulsa last Friday.

Freshman keeper Brittany Brown (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena HS) has started the last five games in goal for the Eagles, holding a 4-0-1 record on the season with a 0.70 goals-against average. Brown was recently named Defensive Player of the Week by the Atlantic Sun Conference after picking up two victories over the weekend with a shutout and only one goal allowed.

Northern Arizona University comes into Friday with a 1-5-1 record this season, going 0-1-1 last week with a 2-2 tie at San Francisco followed by a 3-0 loss to UC Davis. Haley Wingender leads the club with two goals and four points on the season, while Demi Schmeider leads NAU with two assists. Keeper Natalie Gilbertson is 1-4-0 with a shutout on the season.

UNLV comes into the tournament with a 5-2-1 record and winners of five straight, highlighted by a 2-1 double-overtime victory against Big 12 Oklahoma. Jenn Wolfe leads the team with seven goals and 14 points. Macy Jo Harrison is second on the team in points (9) behind Wolfe with a team-leading five assists and two goals. Kylie Wassel has started in net all eight games for the Rebels with three shutouts and holding a 5-2-1 record.
