Hansen Earns First Career A-Sun Player of the Week Honor

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Redshirt-junior Sarah Hansen (McKean, Pa./General McLane HS) helped lead FGCU to a 1-1 record last week, and for her performances, she claimed her first career Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honor.

Hansen, an A-Sun Preseason All-Conference selection, turned in a 24 point, 11 rebound performance, to lead the Eagles to a 69-45 win over in-state foe FIU on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Alico Arena. The McKean, Pa. native scored her 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field in 35 minutes.

In FGCU’s first road test of the season (Nov. 18), Hansen recorded 19 points, six rebounds and four assists as the Green and Blue dropped a 79-60 decision to A-10 foe Charlotte at Halton Arena.

The Green and Blue, who are 44-13 all-time in the month of November, will be back in action over Thanksgiving break when they participate in the Paradise Jam (Nov. 22-24) in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Green and Blue will play three games in the Paradise Jam (DePaul, South Carolina, Hampton), opening with a matchup with DePaul on Nov. 22 at 3:30 pm ET.
