FORT MYERS, Fla. – Redshirt junior Sarah Hansen (McKean, Pa./General McLane HS) scored a game-high 27 points as the FGCU women’s basketball team defeated conference rival Stetson, 72-55, to secure the outright A-Sun Regular Season title as well as the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic Sun Tournament (Mar. 6-9) and for her performance, she claimed College Sports Madness A-Sun Player of the Week honors on Monday morning (Feb. 25).

A 2013 Capital One Academic All-America women’s basketball second team selection, Hansen has earned CSM A-Sun Player of the Week accolades on five occasions this season and seven times in her career. The McKean, Pa. native also added seven boards to go with career-highs in blocks (4) and steals (7).

She is first in the conference in free throw percentage (.843) and second in the A-Sun in scoring (17.4 points), while ranking in the top 15 in six categories (rebounding, field goal percentage, assists, steals, blocks, minutes).
