FORT MYERS, Fla. – After a successful premiere of its inaugural show last weekend, the second episode of the FGCU Sports Report produced by WGCU-TV will air five times over the weekend with Saturday night’s 6:30 p.m. time slot on WGCU as the premiere showing.
The FGCU Sports Report, a 30-minute show which showcases all 14 Division I sports at FGCU, will keep the Southwest Florida community apprised of the FGCU Eagles’ action on a weekly basis through mid-May. As a community partnership agreement, Waterman Broadcasting also will be airing the show on ABC7 and NBC’s News Now channel.
FGCU women’s basketball coach Karl Smesko will serve as this week’s primary interview as he sat down with host Tom James to preview the upcoming season.
The show will also showcase senior women’s volleyball players Chelsea Lyles and Adrianne McNally, who both also played basketball for Smesko for four years. Both Lyles and McNally returned to FGCU for a fifth year and are currently using their final year of eligibility with the two-time A-Sun champion volleyball program.
As always, recaps of all of FGCU’s sports from the past week and previews of what’s ahead will be shown.
A full listing of the time and channels the show will air on is highlighted below. The FGCU Sports Report will have six episodes in the fall and 18 in the spring. The show will take a break after the Dec. 11 episode and will kick-back-up on Jan. 15.
