FORT MYERS, Fla. – Already two full weeks into its fall slate, the third episode of the FGCU Sports Report produced by WGCU-TV will air five times over the weekend with Saturday night’s 6:30 p.m. time slot on WGCU as the premiere showing.
The FGCU Sports Report, a 30-minute show which showcases all 14 Division I sports at FGCU, will keep the Southwest Florida community apprised of the FGCU Eagles’ action on a weekly basis through mid-May. As a community partnership agreement, Waterman Broadcasting also will be airing the show on ABC7 and NBC’s News Now channel.
FGCU first-year men’s golf coach Brent Jensen sat down with host Tom James as this week’s exclusive interview. Jensen’s six-minute exchange with James features a recap of the fall season, Jensen’s rise to the head coaching ranks and some background on one FGCU’s first sports.
As always, recaps of all of FGCU’s sports from the past week and previews of what’s ahead will be shown. Included in the recaps will be highlights from the women’s basketball team’s 25th straight home win at Alco Arena over BIG EAST foe Seton Hall and men’s basketball’s home-opening win this past Tuesday against Southeast Missouri State in which the Eagles scored a program Division I record 89 points.
A full listing of the time and channels the show will air on is highlighted below. The FGCU Sports Report will have six episodes in the fall and 18 in the spring. The show will take a break after the Dec. 11 episode and will kick-back-up on Jan. 15.
