FORT MYERS, Fla. – Riding a seven-match winning streak, the FGCU volleyball squad will host Bethune-Cookman at Alico Arena in non-conference action on Tuesday night. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
The Eagles enter the matchup with an 11-7 overall record (7-0 A-Sun), while the Wildcats are 3-18 overall (3-1 MEAC) on the season.
FGCU has six players that have registered between 60 and 150 kills so far this season, led by junior Christine Pinder’s (Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz HS/Houston/Central Florida CC) team-leading 139. Sophomore Whitney Masters (Muncie, Ind./Wapahani HS) leads the team with 191 digs (3.13/set). The setting duo of sophomore Gigi Meyer (Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz HS) and junior Courtney Greenberg (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers HS/Juniata College) has run the FGCU offense, averaging 5.64 assists and 4.27 assists per set, respectively.

B-CU and FGCU have only met three times prior to Tuesday night’s match. The Eagles hold a 3-0 lead in the all-time series over Bethune-Cookman and have only dropped one set to the Wildcats in the three meetings between the squads.

The Wildcats have won three consecutive matches after opening the season with a 0-18 record.
Tuesday marks the second meeting between FGCU and B-CU this season. On the final day of the University of Wyoming’s Cowgirl Classic (Sept. 1), the Eagles picked up a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-23) win over Bethune-Cookman. Brittany Muse (Arcadia, Fla./DeSoto County HS) and Kaitlin Holm (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers HS/Marshall) led the team with nine kills and seven kills, respectively
