FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast women’s basketball team dropped one spot the No. 10 position in the 15th edition of the 2012-13 CollegeInsider.com Women's Basketball Mid-Major Top 25 poll, announced on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles were ranked No. 9 in last week’s poll.

Delaware (20-3), ranked No. 20 in the AP Top 25 and No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, along with Green Bay (19-2), Gonzaga (20-5), Chattanooga (21-3) and Toledo (21-2) hold the top five spots in the poll.

The Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast.

The Eagles (20-5, 13-0 A-Sun), winners of 31 consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference regular season games, are the lone Atlantic Sun Conference team represented in the poll.

In the FGCU’s last game (Feb. 11), redshirt junior Sarah Hansen (McKean, Pa./General McLane HS) scored a game-high 26 points as the Eagles forced their fourth straight opponent into 15+ turnovers and defeated ETSU, 70-48, to pick up their 14th consecutive win. The win, which gave the Green and Blue their 10th season with at least 20 victories, also improved their impressive record at Alico Arena to 161-11 all-time and 53-1 in conference matchups.

The Eagles, who have compiled an impressive 95-12 record in A-Sun games since making the move to Division I in 2007-08, will be back in action on Saturday, February 16, when they take on the Lady Bison of Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. and the game can be seen live on ESPN3 or on the WatchESPN app.
