DUNK CITY, Fla. – FGCU President Dr. Bradshaw and Director of Athletics Ken Kavanagh will introduce new head men’s basketball coach Joe Dooley at a press conference held on the second floor of Alico Arena on Monday at 1:30 p.m.

Fans can watch the press conference live on A-Sun.TV or by clicking on the link through www.FGCUATHLETICS.com.

Kavanagh named Dooley the third head coach in FGCU’s 11-year history last Wednesday. Possessing 25 years of coaching experience as an assistant coach and head coach, Dooley spent the last 10 seasons as an assistant at Kansas under head coach Bill Self. Over the last 10 seasons, Kansas produced 300 wins, nine straight Big 12 regular season titles, six Big 12 Tournament championships, six NCAA Sweet 16s, five NCAA Elite Eight appearances, two Final Fours, including the 2008 National Championship.

Dooley takes over an FGCU program that wrapped up its sixth season in Division I with a 26-11 overall record, an A-Sun Tournament title and a run to the NCAA Sweet 16 to become the first No. 15 seed to do so.
