by Chris Perry
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University has finished the season currently ranked fourth in the NCAA Division II South Region softball rankings released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee.
“We are very pleased with the latest regional rankings," said head coach Dave Deiros. "We performed well enough this week to maintain our position as a solid number four and should be in position to earn an invitation to regionals."
This is the second week straight FGCU has been ranked fourth in the NCAA Division II South Region softball rankings.
The Eagles (57-7) finished their season batting .330 as a team and has struck out their opponents 423 times.
