Eagles Earn Votes in the Ultimate College Softball Top 25

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team received three votes in this week's Ultimate College Softball Top 25 that was announced on Tuesday.

FGCU has a 43-11 overall record, including winning 41 of their last 46 games. Senior Carmen Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) has been featured in Sports Illustrated and named A-Sun Player of the Week three times this season while senior Rachael Edinger (Lakeland, Fla.) and freshman Morgan Campen (Rougemont, N.C.) have each earned an A-Sun Pitcher of the Week award.

Carmen Paez and Cheyenne Jenks (Naples, Fla.) are leading the Eagles offense, batting .425 and .379, respectively. Carmen Paez is currently leading the nation in homeruns (22 HRs).

The Eagles will be in action Friday when they travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. to take on A-Sun foe, Gardner-Webb, for a double-header. The first game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
