FORT MYERS, Fla. - FGCU Softball Head Coach Dave Deiros has announced the hiring of Paige Jones as assistant softball coach. Jones joins the staff at FGCU after serving as an assistant for West Alabama.

"We are very fortunate to have Paige join our staff for the 2009 season,” said Deiros. “She has played Division I softball at the highest level and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. As a coach, she consistently makes her team better, especially at the plate. I believe our hitters will benefit from her tutelage."

Jones’ responsibilities will include working with the hitters on all aspects of the offense, recruiting, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, serving as a player fitness liaison with the strength and conditioning coach and various other duties.

“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to coach at FGCU and work with Coach Deiros, who has had much success here in the past,” said Jones. “I hope to bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas to this program so that it may continue to move forward.”
