MACON, Ga. - With nine days until FGCU begins their 2013 season at FIU, the Atlantic Sun is looking at top returning pitchers and hitters for the upcoming season. The league listed sophomore pitcher Shelby Morgan (High Springs, Fla./Santa Fe HS) as a top returning pitcher on Monday.

2013 A-Sun Preseason Pitcher of the Year and 2013 A-Sun Preseason first team selection, Morgan had a stellar freshman season that included being named Atlantic Sun Pithcer of the Year, along with being named to the NFCA All-South Region second team and A-Sun All-Conference first team. Being named a top returning pitcher adds to the preseason accolades Morgan has collected leading up to the 2013 season as College Sports Madness named her A-Sun Preseason Pitcher of the Year and an A-Sun Preseason All-Conference first teamer. In 203.1 innings pitched in 2012, Morgan recorded a 1.55 ERA that was the best in the A-Sun and 32nd in the nation. Morgan's solid performance in the opening game of the 2012 NCAA Tournament's Gainesville Regional helped the Green and Blue take down No. 5 Florida 2-1.
