Eagles softball team defeats Thomas College 14-1

Fort Myers – The FGCU softball team improved to 21-13-1 today after defeating Thomas College 14-1.
Nicole Wehrner improved to 12-6 as she went 5 innings, surrendering just 4 hits, and did not allow an earned run. Wehrner struck out 5 in the win.
Offensively, Ashley Cecil continued to dominate as she went a perfect 3-for-3 with 3 runs, and 2 RBI’s. Cecil is now hitting an amazing .517 on the season. Cecil also stole two bases, giving her 48-out –of 50 attempts now.
Kristy Ringler went 2-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI’s while Erin Ogden went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and RBI’s.
Lindsay Ijjas went a perfect 2-for-2 with a run scored and a RBI to lead the Eagles.
Courtney Fleming came off the bench to go 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and a RBI as well.
Coach Dave Deiros’ team is now hitting .354 as a team, and will play Webber International in a double header Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast High School.
