FORT MYERS, Fla – Florida Gulf Coast University head softball coach Dave Deiros announced the signing of six high school athletes to National Letters of Intent on Friday. Jennifer Brandon (Palm Harbor, Fla/University), Dana Frantz (Brighton, MI), Melissa Geissler (Fort Myers Bishop Verot), Brittany Lamb (West Palm Beach/Leonard), LeeAnne McDowell (Arcadia, Fla/DeSoto ), and Paige Raulerson (Labelle, Fla.) each signed to play for Eagles beginning with the 2006 season. Brandon is an outfielder who was part of a state champion last season. McDowell will compete for time at first base and in the outfield while Paulerson and Lamb will see time in the infield. Geissler and Frantz will each spend the majority of time on the pitcher’s mound. “We added six fantastic athletes who add speed, versatility and ability”, said Deiros, who has led FGCU to a 74-32 mark in the past two seasons. “Most importantly, they are intelligent ballplayers who will play very well within our system.” The Eagles will open the 2005 season on February 12 when they host Palm Beach Atlantic in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. 2005-06 Signees: Jennifer Brandon OF Palm Harbor,Fla.
