PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Seaside, Calif. – Florida Gulf Coast remained perfect in sweeping player of the week awards. The honors have been awarded five times this season and FGC has won all five. Player of the Week was Jessica Rouse (So./Jacksonville, Fla.). She hit .381 (8-21) and drove in eight runs. Rouse had a game-winning two run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Grand Valley State. She also had a two run triple to tie the game against Mercyhurst.
Pitcher of the Week was Kelly Powe (Sr./Naples, Fla.) for the second time this season. She was 6-0 with 32 strikeouts, six walks and a 0.64 ERA in 44 innings. She threw six complete games and gave up 29 hits and just eight runs with only four earned.
