Softball Moves to 14-2 With Three Wins

CLEARWATER, Fla., - The FGCU softball team raised its record to 14-2 with three wins on the first day of the 2007 Triton Spring Invitational. The Eagles knocked off #8 Lemoyne 4-1 in the opener. Dana Frantz picked up the win for the Eagles. Carmen Paez hit a two-run homer to help lift the Eagles to the win. In the second game against Florida Tech, Rachel Edinger tossed a no-hitter to improve to 6-0 on the season. The Eagles scored a season-high 11 runs in a five inning win against Nova Southeastern. Paez again hit a homerun, her sixth on the year. The Eagles put up four runs in the second and five in the third to put the game out of reach. Frantz picked up the win in that game as well to move to 7-2 on the year. The Eagles will be in action again tomorrow at 2:00 pm when they face Eckerd, and again at 4:30 pm when they face Tampa.
