FORT MYERS, Fla., The FGCU softball rebounded to knock off #8 LeMoyne for the second time this season. FGCU improves to 20-3 with the win. The Eagles jumped on the Dolphins in the third inning for three runs. Christa Piquette (Barrington, R.I.) bunted safely to get the offense started in the inning. With two outs, Cheyenne Jenks (Naples, Fla.) singled and Carmen Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) followed suit to bring home Piquette for FGCU’s first run. Desiree Miller (Hartville, Ohio) singled to load the bases for Jessica Rouse (Jacksonville, Fla.). Rouse delivered a two run single to give FGCU a 3-0 lead. The Eagles would tack on three more in the seventh, to take a 6-0 lead. Rachel Edinger (Lakeland, Fla.) scattered four hits while striking out nine batters to improve to 10-0 on the year. Jenks was 2-for-3 for the Eagles as was Miller. Six other Eagles recorded a hit in the game. The Eagles will be in action again later this afternoon when they take on Mercyhurst at 5:00 pm.
