Softball Records Win #200 in Program History

FGCU softball improves to 30-3 after three wins in the Fun-in-Sun Classic hosted by Lander University. The Eagles knocked off Nova Southeastern 5-1 in the first game of the day. Rachel Edinger picked up win number 14 on the year, allowing one run on five hits. Desiree Miller hit a two-run homer for the Eagles in the contest. Against West Liberty, the Eagles scored four runs in the first, second and third innings to take a 12-0 lead. Rachel Homan led off the game for the Eagles and FGCU never looked back. Sarah Backe picked up her second win of the year. In the third game vs. Grand Valley State, FGCU picked up win number 200 as Backe earned her second win of the day. Edinger came in to pick up her third save of the year. Natasha Johnson hit a two-run homer for the Eagles as well. FGCU will be back in action again in the Fun-In-Sun Classic tomorrow when they face American International and Nova Southeastern.
