Eagles Sweep Day Two of Spring Break Invitational

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team won a pair of games on the second day of the FGCU Spring Break Invitational. The Eagles scored 14 runs for the second consecutive day and defeated St. Bonaventure and Western Carolina.

The Eagles are now 9-5 on the season.

The Eagles handed St. Bonaventure a 9-2 loss in their first game of the day. Senior Carmen Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) went 2-for-3 with two RBI's. Cheyenne Jenks (Naples, Fla.) went 1-for-3 with two RBI's. Dana Frantz (Brighton, Mich.) picked up her third win of the season, going all 6.0 innings while striking out two batters.

FGCU knocked off Western Carolina, 5-2, in their second game of the day. Sam Waldron (Plant City, Fla.) went 1-for-4 with two RBI's. Morgan Campen (Rougemont, N.C.) picked up her second win of the season, pitching 7.0 innings and registering nine strikeouts. 

The Eagles will be in action for the final day of the FGCU Spring Break Invitational when they face SDSU, Boston College and St. Bonaventure tomorrow.
