Eagles Win Two on Final Day of Tourney

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team went 2-0 on the final day of the FGCU Spring Break Softball Tourney. The Eagles are now 21-6 on the season.

The Eagles took the first matchup from NIU by a score of 5-0. Rachael Edinger (Lakeland, Fla.) went the distance for the Eagles, pitching 7.0 strong innings and striking out six to pick up her eighth win of the season. Jessica Gary (Naples, Fla.) went 2-for-3 with one RBI, while Roz Tyre (Lake City, Fla.) finished 2-for-4 with one RBI.

FGCU knocked off Mount St. Mary in the second game by a score of 8-3. Morgan Campen pitched 7.0 innings and struck out eight in her seventh win of the season. Jessica Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) finished 3-for-4 with three RBI's and a homerun and Courtney Platt went 2-for-4 with two RBI's to lead the Eagles.

The Eagles will be in action Wednesday when they head to Daytona Beach for a double-header with Bethune-Cookman. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
