Eagles Earn a Split with Tennessee-Chattanooga

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team split a double-header with the Mocs of Tennessee-Chattanooga.The Eagles are now 29-7 on the season.

The Eagles lost the first matchup to the Mocs by a score of 3-1. The Eagles had an opportunity to possibly win the game in the bottom of the seventh with two on and two outs, but the FGCU flied out to centerfield to end the game.

FGCU knocked off the Mocs in game two by a score of 4-2. Jessica Gary (Naples, Fla.) finished 2-for-4 with two RBI's and Cheyenne Jenks went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Morgan Campen picked up the win, allowing five hits and striking out three.

The Eagles will be in action Friday when they meet Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. for a double-header. The first game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
