FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team took both games in a double-header with Appalachian State. The Eagles are now 31-7 on the season.
The Eagles won the first matchup to the Mountaineers by a score of 7-5. The Eagles offense was led by Cheyenne Jenks (Naples, Fla.) and Carmen Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.). Jenks went 2-for-3 with two RBI's and Paez finished 2-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI's. Carmen Paez's homerun was her A-Sun Conference leading 15th homerun of the season. Rachael Edinger picked up the win, going the distance and striking out seven.
FGCU knocked off the Mocs in game two by a score of 3-2. The Eagles went up 3-2 in the top of the third inning and held off ASU to pick up their 31st win of the season. Jessica Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) finished 1-for-2 with one RBI. Jenks went 2-for-3 with a homerun, which was her third of the season, and two RBI's . Morgan Campen picked up the win, striking out four.
The Eagles will be in action Saturday when they meet Western Carolina in Cullowhee, N.C. for a double-header. The first game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
