Softball Hits the Road for a Pair of A-Sun Double-Headers

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team hits the road for four away games this weekend. The Eagles will face A-Sun foes, Lipscomb and Belmont, in double-header action.

FGCU's Schedule
March 28: at Lipscomb (double-header), 4 p.m.
March 29: at Belmont (double-header), 12 p.m.

The Eagles have a 36-8 overall record, including a perfect record in the A-Sun (4-0) and in away games (5-0).

Senior Carmen Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) has a team-best .409 batting average and a .973 slugging percentage. She leads the nation with 17 homeruns and 49 RBI's. Paez also leads the A-Sun in runs scored, total bases and walks.

The Eagles solid pitching staff is led by senior Rachael Edinger (Lakeland, Fla.) Edinger, who leads FGCU with 142 strikouts, is 16-4 with an ERA of 1.72 and has pitched eight shutouts this season. Junior Dana Frantz (Brighton, Mich.) is 9-3 with a 2.84 ERA and has walked a team-low 12 batters this season. Freshman Morgan Campen (Roungemont, N.C.) is 11-1 with a team-best 1.57 ERA. Campen has pitched four shutouts for the Eagles.
