Softball Hits the Road for a Pair of A-Sun Double-Headers

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team hits the road for four away games this weekend. The Eagles will face A-Sun foes, Gardner-Webb and USC Upstate, in double-header action.

FGCU's Schedule
April 11: at Gardner-Webb (double-header), 2 p.m.
April 12: at USC Upstate (double-header), 2 p.m.

The Eagles have a 43-11 overall record, including an 11-1 record in the A-Sun contests and a 13-2 record in away games.

FGCU's offense is led by three players. Senior Carmen Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) has a team-best .425 batting average and a 1.000 slugging percentage. She leads the nation with 22 homeruns and 65 RBI's. Paez also leads the A-Sun in runs scored, total bases and walks. Junior Cheyenne Jenks is batting .379 with 13 HR's and 57 RBI's. Junior Jessica Paez is hitting .321 with 11 HR's and 40 RBI's.

The Eagles solid pitching staff is led by senior Rachael Edinger (Lakeland, Fla.) Edinger, who leads FGCU with 155 strikouts, is 19-6 with an ERA of 1.87 and has pitched eight shutouts this season. Junior Dana Frantz (Brighton, Mich.) is 10-3 with a 3.36 ERA and has walked a team-low 13 batters this season. Freshman Morgan Campen (Roungemont, N.C.) is 14-2 with a team-best 2.12 ERA. Campen has pitched four shutouts for the Eagles.
