Eagles Drop a Pair to USC Upstate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The FGCU softball team dropped a pair of games to USC Upstate on Saturday afternoon. The Eaglesbare now 45-13 on the season and 13-3 in the A-Sun.

The Eagles lost the first matchup to the Spartans by a score of 6-4. Samantha Waldron (Plant City, Fla.) and Cheyenne Jenks (Naples, Fla.) both hit homeruns in the loss. Waldron finished 1-for-2 with a homerun and an RBI. Jenks went 1-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI's.

FGCU dropped the second game of the double-header 7-3. Jessica Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) went 3-for-4 with a homerun and a RBI and Roz Tyre (Lake City, Fla.) had two RBI's.

The Eagles will be back in action Friday when they host A-Sun foe, North Florida, for a double-header. The first game is set to begin at 5 p.m.
